Vinted Description Template: Copy-and-Paste Examples That Sell

By Depop Automation Team · October 3, 2026 · 4 min read

On Vinted, the description does two jobs: it convinces a buyer to tap Buy now, and it protects you if they later claim the item wasn't as described. A vague description fails at both. Below are templates you can copy, fill in and post, plus the reasoning behind each line.

What every Vinted description needs

Answer these in the first few lines, because most buyers never scroll past them:

  1. What it is: brand, item type, colour and style.
  2. Size and fit: the label size, how it fits, and measurements.
  3. Condition: honest and specific, with any flaws named and shown in a photo.
  4. Material: fabric composition, if the label shows it.
  5. Extras: smoke-free or pet-free home, bundle discounts, how quickly you post.

Naming flaws clearly matters more on Vinted than almost anywhere else. Buyer Protection means a buyer can raise an issue if the item doesn't match the listing. See Vinted Buyer Protection and refunds.

Template 1: Tops, shirts and knitwear

[Brand] [item type] in [colour] – [style detail, e.g. oversized / cropped / ribbed]

Size: [label size] – fits [true to size / small / oversized]
Pit to pit: [x] cm | Length: [x] cm
Condition: [Very good – worn a few times, no flaws / Good – light bobbling on sleeves, see photo 4]
Material: [e.g. 100% cotton]

Smoke-free home. Happy to bundle – check my other items!

Template 2: Jeans and trousers

[Brand] [fit, e.g. straight-leg / wide-leg / bootcut] jeans – [wash, e.g. mid blue]

Size: [W/L or UK size]
Waist (laid flat): [x] cm | Inside leg: [x] cm | Rise: [x] cm
Condition: [e.g. Very good – slight fading at hems, shown in photo 5]
Stretch: [none / slight / stretchy]

Measurements taken laid flat. Bundle discount available.

Waist and inside-leg measurements prevent more returns than anything else you can add. See how to measure clothes for listings. The method is the same for Vinted.

Template 3: Shoes and trainers

[Brand] [model] – [colourway]

Size: UK [x] / EU [x]
Condition: [e.g. Good – light creasing on toe box, soles in great shape, see photos]
Box: [included / not included]

Cleaned before posting. Fast dispatch.

Template 4: Kids' clothes

[Brand] [item type] – age [x–y years]

Condition: [e.g. Very good – no stains or holes]
Material: [e.g. cotton blend, machine washable]

From a smoke-free home. Lots more kids' sizes in my wardrobe – bundle and save on postage.

Parents often shop by age bundle, so pointing to your other kids' items can turn one sale into five.

Template 5: Bundles

Bundle of [x] [item type] – size [x]

Includes:
- [Brand] [item] – [condition]
- [Brand] [item] – [condition]
- [Brand] [item] – [condition]

All from a smoke-free home. Can split – message me for single prices.

Mistakes that cost Vinted sales

  • "Good condition" with no detail. Name the flaw and point to the photo that shows it.
  • No measurements. Size labels vary wildly between brands, and wrong fit is the top return reason.
  • Keyword stuffing. A wall of unrelated brand names looks spammy and can count against the listing.
  • "No offers" in capitals. Opening a negotiation politely gets you more sales. See how to handle lowball offers on Vinted.
  • Copying the same description across items. Vague, repetitive listings convert worse than specific ones.

Skip the template entirely

Templates speed things up, but you still type every line for every item. DepopAutomation.com's AI Vinted lister writes the title and description from your photos. It also fills in category, condition, colour and style, and uses Google's Nano Banana model to clean up the photos you took.

Always give the AI's description a quick read and add measurements you took yourself. Accuracy is still your job.

Conclusion

A good Vinted description states what the item is, its size with measurements, its honest condition and its material, in the first few lines. Copy the templates above to speed up each listing, or let AI write them from your photos and spend the time you save sourcing more stock.
