How to Pause Your Depop Shop While You're Away (Holiday Mode Options)

By Depop Automation Team · October 14, 2026 · 3 min read

To pause your Depop shop, first ship every open order, then stop new sales from coming in while you're away. Use an away or holiday setting if your version of the app has one. If it doesn't, update your bio with your return date and hide or remove listings you can't ship in time. When you come back, refresh your listings so they get a visibility boost again instead of picking up where they left off.

Why pausing matters

If an item sells while you're away and you can't ship it by the deadline, the order can be cancelled. Late or cancelled orders can hurt your reviews and your account. See what happens if you ship late on Depop.

Before you leave

  1. Ship every open order and check that tracking has updated.
  2. Reply to messages and offers so nobody's left waiting.
  3. Withdraw your balance, if you want the money while you're away. See how to transfer your Depop balance to your bank account.

Option 1: Use an away or holiday setting

Check your Depop settings for an away, holiday or vacation option. Features change between app versions and countries. If one is available, it's the simplest way to stop sales while keeping your listings.

Option 2: Update your bio

Add a short note at the top of your bio:

Away until 3 November, orders will ship when I'm back. Thanks for your patience!

This is helpful, but buyers can still check out, so pair it with option 3 for longer breaks. See how to write a Depop bio.

Option 3: Hide or remove listings

For longer breaks, take listings down so they can't be bought. Keep a copy of the photos and details so you can put them back up easily. See the Depop scraper listing backup guide.

Short breaks: ask a friend to ship

For a weekend away, a friend or family member can post orders for you, using the label from the order. Only do this if you trust them with your stock and the deadlines.

Coming back with fresh visibility

Old listings lose visibility over time, and a break makes that worse. When you return, relisting puts items back in front of buyers as if they were new. Editing and saving doesn't do the same job. See Depop relist vs refresh.

DepopAutomation.com's relist feature deletes and republishes old listings for you, so your whole shop comes back fresh after a break. The bulk lister and AI listing tool help you add new stock quickly, and the profit tracker picks up where you left off. See also how to reset the Depop algorithm.

Quick answers

Does Depop have vacation mode? Check your settings. Availability varies. If there isn't one, use your bio and hide listings.

Will pausing hurt my shop? A planned break is far better than late orders. Relist when you're back to regain visibility.

What about orders placed just before I leave? Ship them before you go, or ask the buyer if they're happy to wait.

Conclusion

Ship your open orders, then use an away setting if you have one, or update your bio and hide listings for longer breaks. When you return, relist your shop so it gets fresh visibility again.
