Handling Offers When You Cross-List on Depop and Vinted

By Depop Automation Team · October 16, 2026 · 5 min read

When you cross-list, the same item can attract offers on Depop and Vinted at the same time. The key is to decide one floor price per item before the offers come in, adjusted for each app's fees, and to answer quickly, because offers on both apps expire if you leave them. Here's how to handle offers across both platforms without losing margin or selling twice.

How offers differ between the two apps

On Vinted, buyers can send an offer on most items, and Vinted limits how many offers a buyer can make in a period of time. An unanswered offer expires after a while, and Vinted adds its buyer protection fee on top of the agreed price, so the buyer pays more than the number they offered. See when do Vinted offers reset and how to make an offer on Vinted.

On Depop, buyers can make offers on listings too, and you can accept, decline or counter. Depop's seller fees come out of what you receive, so an accepted offer reduces your payout directly.

The exact limits and timings on both apps change from time to time, so the in-app message is the best guide to when an offer expires.

Set one floor, adjusted for fees

Before listing, write down for each item:

  1. What you paid for it.
  2. The lowest profit you'll accept.
  3. Your floor on each platform, which is the lowest offer that still gives you that profit after that platform's fees.

Because Depop's fees come from the seller and Vinted's buyer fee comes from the buyer, your floor on Depop usually needs to be a little higher than on Vinted to leave you with the same amount. See Depop vs Vinted fees for cross-listers.

With floors written down, answering an offer takes seconds: above your floor, accept or counter slightly; below it, decline or counter at your floor.

When an item gets offers on both apps

This is where cross-listing needs care. If you accept offers on both apps for the same item, both buyers can pay and you've sold it twice.

  • Accept only one offer per item at a time. Once you accept on one app, the buyer can usually go straight to checkout.
  • Compare the offers by what you'd keep, not by the headline number. An offer that looks higher on Depop may leave you less after fees.
  • Decline or hold the other. Once the first buyer has paid, decline the other offer and remove the listing from that app.
  • Remove the other listing straight away after a sale. Depop and Vinted don't sync, so it stays live until you take it down. See what happens when a cross-listed item sells.

Counter rather than decline

A buyer who makes an offer is interested. Countering at your floor turns many lowballs into sales. On Vinted especially, buyers' offer limits mean a second offer is a strong sign they want the item. Our guides to lowball offers on Vinted and lowball offers on Depop cover what to say.

Use bundles to beat lowballs

When a buyer offers low on one item, suggest a bundle instead: they get a better deal across several items and you get a bigger order. See pricing Vinted bundles for profit.

Reply fast on both apps

Offers expire, and buyers often send offers on several similar items at once. The seller who answers first usually gets the sale. Turn on notifications for both apps and check them at set times through the day.

Less time listing, more time for offers

Answering offers quickly is easier when you're not spending hours listing. DepopAutomation.com's cross-listing creates your Depop and Vinted listings together from one set of photos, with the AI listing tool filling in the details and Google's Nano Banana model improving the photos. The bulk lister handles a whole haul at once.

The profit tracker records what each item cost and what it sold for after fees, so you can see whether accepting offers is eating into your margin. Items that don't get offers can be refreshed with the relist feature.

Quick answers

Do offers expire on Vinted? Yes. If you don't accept or decline an offer, it expires after a while. The exact time can change, so check the app.

Can I accept offers on both Depop and Vinted for the same item? You shouldn't. If both buyers pay, you've sold the item twice. Accept one, then decline the other and remove that listing once the first buyer pays.

Should my price floor be the same on both apps? Not exactly. Depop takes fees from the seller and Vinted charges the buyer, so to keep the same profit your Depop floor is usually a bit higher.

What's the best way to answer a lowball offer? Counter at your floor or suggest a bundle. Declining outright loses a buyer who was interested.

Conclusion

Cross-listing means more offers, which is good, as long as you handle them with a plan. Set a floor per item adjusted for each app's fees, answer quickly, accept only one offer per item at a time, and remove the other listing as soon as it sells.
