Depop Seller Hasn't Shipped Your Order? When You Can Cancel and Get a Refund

By Depop Automation Team · October 23, 2026 · 4 min read

Depop sellers are expected to ship within a few working days of a sale (three working days at the time of writing). If your order still hasn't shipped after that, message the seller first. If they don't respond or can't give you a date, you can ask them to cancel, or contact Depop through the order to cancel it and get your money back. Because you paid through Depop, your money is protected while you wait.

How long a seller has to ship

The clock starts when you pay. Sellers get a short window, counted in working days (Monday to Friday), to post the item and mark it shipped. Weekends and public holidays don't count, so an order placed on Friday evening may not be due until the middle of the next week.

Sellers who use Depop's prepaid labels have tracking added automatically. Sellers who arrange their own shipping should add tracking when they post.

Step 1: Check the order

Open the order in your purchases. If it shows as shipped, use the tracking to see where it is. Parcels sometimes ship without a tracking scan for a day or two. See how Depop shipping works for buyers.

Step 2: Message the seller

Send a short, polite message in the Depop chat asking when it will ship. Most delays are an ill seller, a holiday or a busy week, and a quick message sorts them out. Keep the conversation in the app so Depop can see it if you need help later.

Step 3: Ask for a cancellation

If the shipping window has passed and the seller gives no date or doesn't reply, ask them to cancel the order. A cancellation refunds you through Depop. See how to cancel an order on Depop.

Step 4: Contact Depop

If the seller ignores you, contact Depop support from the order. Depop can cancel an unshipped order and refund you. Orders that are never shipped can also be cancelled automatically after a period. The exact timing is set by Depop and can change, so the order page and the Help Centre are the best guide.

Refunds go back to your original payment method, or to your Depop balance if you paid with it. Bank refunds can take a few working days to show. See what does "payment refunded" mean on Depop.

Is it a scam?

A late seller is usually just late. Warning signs are different:

  • The seller asks you to cancel and pay them outside Depop instead.
  • They send a tracking number that doesn't match your address or the item.
  • They push you to confirm receipt before the item has arrived.

Never pay outside the app. See common Depop scams and how to avoid them.

Late shipping leads to cancellations, poor reviews and lower visibility. See what happens if you ship late on Depop. Listing is the part you can hand off: DepopAutomation.com's bulk lister and AI listing tool turn photos into finished listings, with Nano Banana tidying the images, so you have time left for packing. Relisting, cross-listing to Vinted and the profit tracker handle the rest.
